Omron HJ-150 Hip Pedometer Review
This hip-pedometer is by far the best I've ever owned. My previous pedometers lacked accuracy and seemed very flaky (they were lagging in technology, which may not be a bad thing but in this case was, as they were inaccurate to sometimes a large degree). This pedometer's "counting" mechanism seems to be a bit more advanced as it is not simply a small ball moving inside the pedometer - There is no "clicking" sound as it counts.
The reset feature is the most helpful feature to me. There is no reset button on the device, so there cannot be any accidental reset of your total steps. This was a problem for me with my other pedometers. This device simply resets itself at midnight, every day (it contains a digital clock on its screen, which is also pretty handy). Also, it does not accidentally count ordinary movements as steps - it does this by only counting consecutive movement that has maintained for at least 4 seconds. After 4 seconds, it continues the count until your movement has stopped. If the movement is less than 4 seconds long, it simply displays that no steps were taken.
All in all, this pedometer is VERY solid. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in an accurate pedometer with no reset button.
