I had originally purchased a different brand of pedometer from Walmart (I know, I should have known better) which was loud when I walked & either didn't count or over counted my steps. After doing a bit more research and reading a lot of reviews, I thought I'd try this one. It was relatively easy to program & once you had your stride length entered, it really kept an accurate count. I walked with it in my hand several times and watched it count exactly as I stepped. I was very happy with this. However, I discovered it's not water proof. I left it in my pants pocket, and my daughter forgot to check pockets (again) while doing the wash. I do plan on getting another one.
